Would you like some activities?

These programs offer our English Communication (General English) plus activity credits. As our area is a world-class tourist destination, we offer this so that students can have the chance to easily enjoy the area. Each month the students can use their credits and choose the activities that they want to take.

Although this is optional it is a unique system that allows students to add activities to their lessons. As the activities are prepaid, students are able to arrive and take the best-selected activities, make friends faster and save a lot of money. Not only is the program a cost recovery program for the school (The school only charges prices that will cover the cost of the whole activity program) students can also save more money by taking the activity packages. The Winter and Summer activities programs gives the largest discount, followed by the packages combined with English Communication 30 hours, 24 hour and 15 hours/week.

•Students go online (internet) and select the activities they would like to take for the upcoming month. For example, a student staying for 4 weeks would have 32 credits to use for the month.
•If less than 5 students are in the class/activity, there is a 90% chance it will be cancelled. In this case students must choose another activity.
•Students MUST use all of their credits each month.

Save money and enjoy activities!

During the year Banff Education Centre offers the students activities 3 to 7 days each week (During the summer activities are usually offered daily). Weekday activities are in the afternoons and weekend activities are either full day or half-day activities. The Banff/Canmore area is well known for both Summer and Winter Activities. After many years of student feedback Banff Education Centre has designed activities that keep evolving. We offer 2 types of activities. Professional Activity Provider Activities: Companies in the area run these activities. Students use their credits and receive discounts by going through BEC. Students can also receive even higher discounts by taking an activity program. School Run Activities: These are activities run by BEC Staff or volunteers. These activities are designed to offer students interesting and exciting activities without paying the prices that tour or activities companies charge. Our activities are priced on a “Cost Recovery System”. This means that BEC only charges amounts to cover the costs related to running the activity program and these prices are adjusted yearly. Students save money by joining activities through Banff Education Centre and save more by joining our activity programs!
