A Winter Wonderland with the best winter conditions in Canada.

BEC combines the best of a resort vacation with intensive English study with our Activity Programs. We believe that learning happens inside and outside of a classroom. We also believe that students learn more quickly when they are having fun.

• Please see our English Communication Programs for more information on the lessons.

• Each week different activities are offered and activities are worth different credit amounts. Students select their activities and use their credits each month and add the activities to their schedule.

• Ski/Snowboarding does not include lessons. On Saturday/Sunday the Sunshine Village Resort Ski/Snowboarding shuttle leaves Canmore early in the morning (8:30am) and comes back around 5pm.

Students have 8 Credits/week. For example, a student that is in the course in February would go online and select 32 credits (4 weeks) of activities in the third week of January.

Credits are used for activities, private lessons and weekend activities

• Activities and credit amounts are subject to change without notice.
• Minimum number of 5 students needed to run activities.
• Usually students prefer weekend full day or Friday evening skiing but as long as 5 students are interested we will also offer a weekday half day ski/snowboard shuttle for 2 credits.
• Aside from using the Sunshine Village Ski Resort for most of our ski/snowboarding days, Banff Education Centre is not an official representative or affiliate of Sunshine Village.

Plus, Friday Evening (optional with credits) and
Saturday and Sunday ski/snowboard (included in the program).

During the year Banff Education Centre offers the students activities 3 to 7 days each week (During the summer activities are usually offered daily). Weekday activities are in the afternoons and weekend activities are either full day or half-day activities. The Banff/Canmore area is well known for both Summer and Winter Activities. After many years of student feedback Banff Education Centre has designed activities that keep evolving. We offer 2 types of activities. Professional Activity Provider Activities: Companies in the area run these activities. Students use their credits and receive discounts by going through BEC. Students can also receive even higher discounts by taking an activity program. School Run Activities: These are activities run by BEC Staff or volunteers. These activities are designed to offer students interesting and exciting activities without paying the prices that tour or activities companies charge. Our activities are priced on a “Cost Recovery System”. This means that BEC only charges amounts to cover the costs related to running the activity program and these prices are adjusted yearly. Students save money by joining activities through Banff Education Centre and save more by joining our activity programs!
